Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
What is OCD?
OCD is characterized by uncontrollable, recurring and persistent thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors or mental acts(compulsions) that significantly disrupt daily life and cause considerable distress and anxiety. The obsessions of compulsions are time-consuming and not attributable to substance use or other mental health conditions.
Treatment Approach
The management of OCD typically involves Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and medications.
